Learn To Play Program

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Learn To Play (LTP) is for youth (ages 4 to 12) that are just starting hockey or have previously played but are not yet ready for competitive team play. LTP is intended to introduce all of the necessary individual skills for playing hockey, with an emphasis on fun and skill development. This program focuses on the ABC’S of hockey (agility, balance, coordination, and skating). There are no games for LTP, but there may be informal scrimmages during some practices. LTP is a prerequisite that must be completed prior to joining a Youth House 8U or 10U team.

There are two 7-week sessions of LTP. Practices are once per week. Each session is $100. We encourage new players to do both sessions. If a player completes both sessions (with 75% or more attendance), the player will receive a voucher for $100 to put towards the following year’s season (to take LTP again or join the youth house program).

Rental equipment (consisting of all required “protective” gear excluding athletic supporter) is available at the rate of $50 per season (limited availability, while supplies last).

A membership with USA Hockey is also required. Costs vary depending on age and the state you live in.
