Couldn't have done it without you! Thanks for your superior teamwork and effort! Go Bears!
Please let me know if you worked the fair and are not recognized above. Thank you!
Almost through day 1 of the Latah County Fair! Thanks to our great volunteers! Today was a slow day in terms of fair visitors but the campers have been present already and work was focused in the camper area and the barns. Tomorrow and through the weekend, there will be more traffic in the stage and food vendor areas as well as the exhibit and commercial buildings but don't forget to poke your head in the Show & Sale building between events and the barns to find those hidden cans.
**Reminders: Fair employees will maintain the bathrooms and will place trash bags from those locations outside buildings like the back door of the commercial building and the exhibit building (across from the rink). If you see them, please pick them up and take them to the collection point.
Unfortunately, hockey players in the past have abused their use of the Gator and now only licensed adults are allowed to operate the Gator on the firehouse road to and from the dumpsters only. We need to respect and abide by the restrictions indicated by the fair or lose our use of the vehicle. Thanks for your cooperation.
Please take a look at the notes left on the sign in table for the most update information by your fellow volunteers.
Keep up the great work and be sure to check out all the fair has to offer as you make your rounds.
The Palouse Ice Rink’s Gala this year will take place on Saturday, October 12 at the Best Western University Inn in Moscow, ID. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. and we have an exciting evening planned with a catered dinner, live music, and a silent/live auction to raise funds. This event has helped us move closer to our goal of building a new full-sized ice rink, and we’re working hard to make it as fun and successful as past ones! Below is our menu for the event – you have a choice of 3 entrées:
Cowboy Surf & Turf: 12-ounce house marinated Ranch steak served with panko breaded shrimp, rosemary red potatoes, and seasonal vegetables
Chicken Coeur d'Alene: French-cut chicken breast, stuffed with St. Maries wild rice pilaf mixed with dried craisins and toasted walnuts, oven roasted and finished with a huckleberry demi-glace, served with rosemary red potatoes, and seasonal vegetables
Eggplant Rollitini: roasted eggplant stuffed with ricotta cheese, spinach, shallots, and garlic, topped with zesty tomato marinara
*All entrée’s served with rolls and butter, mixed green salad, coffee, and tea
With generous donations from supporters like our PYHA members, we have purchased a new score board, new rental skates, and most recently a chiller for our new facility. We have also raised a significant amount of money toward a full-sized rink. Our Gala is a wonderful event where we raise funds and celebrate the future of the ice rink.
We are currently soliciting donations such as gift baskets, wine for a drawing, gift cards, or monetary gifts for our Gala’s silent and live auctions. Please contact us below if you have anything to donate. Items may be dropped off at Moscow Mountain Sport and Physical Therapy in Moscow.
We also hope you will join us to see the progress we’ve made, to recognize the amazing generosity of our community members, and to help make the dream of a new, regulation-size rink a reality! Below is a link to our Event-Brite site to purchase tickets. Early bird ticket sales end September 15th.
Please feel free to contact us with any donations, questions, or further assistance. To find out more about the ice rink and the upcoming Gala, visit palouseicerink.com.
